🔥 Milpa Sculpting Shorts – Limited Core Collection Release

Move with strength. Sculpt with purpose.
The Milpa Sculpting Shorts are your go-to for support, comfort, and cultural connection — designed for surf, swim, or wherever your day takes you.

A part of our limited Core Collection, these pieces are slow made, never mass produced, and will not be restocked.

✨ Why You'll Love It:

  • Shorter-length, booty-style surf shorts for a flattering, sculpted fit

  • High-waist design with a thick elastic waistband for core support

  • No front seam for a smooth, ultra-comfortable finish

  • Luxe silver hardware detailing

  • Sustainably made with Repreve® and ECONYL®

  • Exclusive in-house print — every piece is uniquely yours

🖤 Fit That Moves With You

Whether you're diving into the ocean or pairing them with a crop top for everyday wear, the Milpa Shorts offer flexible styling and a second-skin feel. The high waistband sculpts and supports your midsection, while the no-seam front ensures maximum comfort during movement.

These shorts are made with regenerated, eco-conscious fibres and hand-printed artwork — so every piece is one-of-a-kind.

🚨 One-of-a-Kind – No Restocks

Like all Jalayimiya Swim styles, the Milpa Shorts are printed in small batches to reduce waste and honour individuality. Once they’re gone, they won’t return.

Fit Tip: True to size. For more shaping or compression, size down.

🌿 The Story Behind the Name: Milpa

Milpa (Mill-ba) is named after my Mum (Aunty), Ivy — a pillar of strength, culture, and guidance in our family.

She played a vital role in shaping this collection — helping me source the names, navigate cultural protocol, and ensure everything was done with respect and integrity. She continues to support our mob in Kurnangki, nurturing and protecting cultural knowledge for the next generation.

This piece is a tribute to her as a community matriarch and cultural backbone — a quiet strength that runs through our family and this collection.

✨ Special Mention: Ningali Lawford

Pictured on the left is my Mum (Aunty) Ningali Lawford — a beloved Australian actress whose powerful presence on screen brought stories to life. But to me, she was more than that. She was wise, warm, and deeply connected to culture.

I wish she could see what I’ve built through Jalayimiya Swim — and be here to guide me with language and spirit, just like she always did. Her legacy lives on in every thread of this collection.

Wear the Milpa Shorts with pride. They’re built for movement, anchored in culture, and made to last.

Eco-Friendly Fabric

Why We Chose ECONYL® and REPREVE® for Our Core Collection

At Jalayimiya Swim, our designs are more than just bold prints and flattering cuts—they’re an extension of our values. As a brand deeply rooted in Country, community, and culture, we believe in honouring the earth through conscious choices. That’s why the fabrics in our Core Collection are carefully selected with sustainability at the forefront.

ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon

ECONYL® is a next-generation fibre made from 100% regenerated nylon waste—things like fishing nets recovered from oceans, fabric scraps, carpet fluff, and industrial plastic. Instead of ending up in landfill or polluting our waters, this waste is rescued, cleaned, and transformed into a premium yarn that’s identical to virgin nylon, but far better for the planet.

Using ECONYL® means we’re actively participating in a closed-loop production system—reducing the need for new resources and giving discarded materials a second life. It’s strong, long-lasting, and perfect for swimwear that’s built to support, move with you, and stand the test of time.

REPREVE® Recycled Polyester

Another key player in our sustainability journey is REPREVE®, one of the most innovative eco-friendly fabric choices in the swimwear world. Made from 85% recycled plastic bottles and 15% spandex, REPREVE® gives new purpose to single-use waste.

The journey starts by collecting plastic bottles—often by hand—from coastlines and communities without formal recycling systems. These bottles are sorted, cleaned, and chopped into flakes, which are then processed into chips. The chips are melted, extruded, and spun into REPREVE® fibres, which are then woven into beautiful, durable swimwear fabrics.

Why It Matters

By incorporating ECONYL® and REPREVE® into our Core Collection, we’re choosing materials that align with our mission: celebrating culture and protecting Country. These fibres allow us to reduce our environmental impact while creating high-quality swimwear that looks and feels incredible on every body.

Because sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s our responsibility.

PRE ORDER

Why We No Longer Offer Pre-Orders

At Jalayimiya Swim, we’ve made the decision to move away from pre-orders in order to create a more seamless and stress-free experience for our community.

While pre-orders once helped us align with our sustainability values by reducing waste and supporting small-batch production, we’ve grown and adapted to better meet your needs.

Here’s why we’ve changed:

Faster Fulfilment: You get your swimwear quicker, with no waiting period.

Better Inventory Planning: We now produce in small, ready-to-ship batches based on customer demand and feedback.

Improved Experience: No more wondering when your item will arrive – what you see is what’s available and ready to ship.

We're still committed to sustainability and supporting small businesses – we’re just doing it in a way that gives you more certainty and faster delivery.

Thank you for growing with us 💙
