Ethics, Values, and Commitment

At Jalayimiya Swim, we’re more than just a swimwear brand; we are a reflection of culture, community, and care for the planet. Our ethos is rooted in celebrating body diversity, sustainable practices, and Aboriginal heritage, ensuring every piece we create tells a meaningful story.

Celebrating Culture and Body Diversity

Founded in 2022 by Brodie George, a proud Walmajarri woman from Fitzroy Crossing, Kimberley, our designs are inspired by the vibrant desert art of her mob, reimagined with a modern twist. The name "Jalayimiya" honours Brodie’s Aboriginal name, which reflects her deep connection to her Walmajarri culture. Through our collections, we aim to share stories of Country, identity, and resilience with the world.

We proudly showcase natural beauty through unretouched photoshoots featuring Aboriginal models—many of whom are friends and family—highlighting diverse body types and pushing boundaries of conventional beauty standards. By prioritising inclusion and authenticity, we celebrate every individual’s unique story and beauty.

Commitment to Sustainability

Our commitment to sustainability is woven into every thread of our business. From using eco-conscious materials to employing ethical production practices, we strive to minimise our environmental impact. Each piece in our collection is thoughtfully designed to prioritise longevity, comfort, and versatility, helping our customers invest in timeless swimwear rather than fast fashion.

Building Community and Creating Change

For us, community is at the heart of everything we do. We create opportunities to uplift others by sharing cultural stories and promoting Aboriginal representation in the fashion industry. Having been featured at New York Fashion Week and in major publications like Elle and Harper's Bazaar, we use our platform to amplify the importance of cultural storytelling and sustainable fashion.

Our Promise to You

As we look ahead, we’re committed to expanding our efforts towards sustainability, ethical production, and cultural celebration. With plans to introduce a carefully curated core collection in 2025, we are listening to our customers and creating pieces that reflect their needs and values.

Whether you wear Jalayimiya Swim to embrace your natural beauty, honour cultural roots, or simply enjoy timeless, sustainable swimwear, you’re joining us in making a statement: fashion can be meaningful, ethical, and inclusive.

This is our promise—to continue designing with purpose, representing our culture with pride, and creating a world where beauty, sustainability, and storytelling coexist.
