Founder & Designer

My name is Brodie George and I’m a proud Walmajarri woman from Fitzroy Crossing in The Kimberley of Western Australia.
My Aboriginal name is Jalayimiya pronounced "jul-a-mia".
I spent my childhood surrounded by family, country and culture learning & using language.
Being very artistic from a young age the artwork of my desert mob has influenced the creations of my designs - a very distinct bright style with a modern adaption.
I'm country conscious living a lifestyle headed by low-tox and holistic living.
This is incorporated into my business - making conscious decisions around materials using recycled plastics where possible and made to order pieces to reduce landfill.
I believe as Aboriginal people we need to honour our ancestors practices and care for country by making conscious decisions in our everyday lives.

The calendar combines Walmajarri seasonal names with the Walmajarri people's knowledge of both desert and river country.
All swimwear showcases beautiful Aboriginal art painted by me Brodie George also known as Jalayimiya (my Walmajarri/Aboriginal name).
The collection includes eco-friendly selections with garments made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles into polyester.
Collection ranges from sizes 8 - 24 with mix'n'match options to cater for as many bodies as possible to represent everyday people.
Jalayimiya Swim is encouraged to be worn by everyone from all walks of life to inspire more visibility and admiration for the oldest continuing living culture in the world.

Acknowledgment of Country

I acknowledge the traditional custodians throughout
Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community.

I pay respects to all members of the Aboriginal
communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.

I acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar mob as I currently reside in Boorloo (Perth).

Special acknowledgement to my Walmajarri Elders from Fitzroy
Crossing, WA for they carry the language, culture and knowledge.
